to join with gold
It is a 15th-Century Japanese practice of meaning “to join with gold”, in which broken pottery is joined back together (sometimes with the missing piece taken from other pottery, adheres together with gold. ( a wonderful symbol of outer community joining in to give a prt of themselves to rebuild).. The rebuilt vessel is stronger and has more value. Kintsugi is a reminder to stay optimistic when things fall apart or become broken and find creative ways to navigate life challenges.
Kokua: The spirit of kindness accompanied by a desire to help one another, without expecting anything in return. This breaks down into three parts – a desire to help, mutual assistance (or pitching in wherever you can), and acts of kindness that don’t require any goodness in return.
